MIGrator® 3.0 - High efficiency software supplement for Oracle development tools

MIGrator is a special, high-efficiency software product designed to support the migration process of Forms 3.0 applications into Forms 4.5 and/or Forms 5.0, and/or Forms 6.0 environment (Developer 1.x and/or 2.x and/or 6.x).

MIGrator translates Forms 3.0 source files (.INP files) into corresponding Forms 4.5 or 5.0 files or 6.0 (.FMB, .FMX files) that retain identical functionality and field location.

In converted applications that must run in a graphic environment, features like mouse navigation, tool bar and scroll bar implementation, color and font setup, etc. are implemented automatically during migration.

MIGrator is simple and ready to use. In addition, MIGrator’s usage is fairly intuitive and has a number of useful predefined objects.

Compared with troublesome manual work, automatic conversion saves many man-months of programming work. Typically, MIGrator saves more than 95% of time.

The more complex the task (i.e. large applications to convert, complex conditions under which to develop the application, complicated ways to distribute the application), the more manifest MIGrator’s benefits become.

The application’ s resulting appearance and features are "tunable" because every parameter used for the conversion is stored in a parametric table. Any form conversion can thus be repeated with identical or modified parameters at any time.

MIGrator’ s efficiency is enhanced by widespread parameterization:
- any parameter supported by a 4.5, 5.0, 6.0 environment is available
- absolute and relative changes of any object feature
- conditional parameter and parameter modification options
- optional global and local features; parameter effect limiting option to certain forms (all forms, a form group, a single form).

Most customer applications comply with specific developing conventions; MIGrator makes it possible to - include such conventions into the conversion while adding new graphic features and providing propagation throughout the application.

With MIGrator you will not get entangled into dependence on a single supplier for future migrations.

Converted forms fit in a WEB environment equally as well as forms that are developed especially for Forms 4.5, 5.0, 6.0 (Oracle Developer).

MIGrator supports both one-time conversion (and distribution) and a stage-by-stage translation of customer applications, with a transition period during which application development and/or distribution is split between Forms 3.0 and the new environment.
